Are We a Good Fit?

We love working with clients on short-term projects and in long-term relationships, and we hope you’ll reach out to us about marketing communication services. If you need a little more information first, check out this brief list of FAQs.

What is integrated marketing communications?

The American Marketing Association defines integrated marketing communications (IMC) as “a planning process designed to assure that all brand contacts received by a customer or prospect for a product, service, or organization are relevant to that person and consistent over time.” At The Dames, we offer a blend of communication services that are commensurate with our many years of experience and important to client success.

What kind of consulting and project contracts do you offer?

We believe in being flexible and creating arrangements that work for both The Dames and our clients. Some clients choose retainers, others request project-based pricing, and still others pay by the hour. Projects and retainers can be modified or canceled at any time with a 30-day written notice and reimbursement for all hours, costs, and expenses incurred prior to the change.

What types of companies do you work with?

As a marketing company for small to midsized businesses, we work for B2B and B2C companies in many different industries. We are especially strong in education, healthcare, and manufacturing, but our knowledge and know-how also include startups, real estate, retail, restaurants, insurance, technology, and more. Our current clients generally have between 10 and 500 employees and a small or one-person in-house marketing / PR team. We also work with select businesses that don’t have any internal promotions resources.

Where is your company based?

A 100-percent woman-owned business, The Dames–along with every collaborator we work with–is based entirely in the United States. We live and work remotely from Canton, Ohio.

How much will a website cost me?

A typical Dames’ website design project costs between $300 and $600 per page with a minimum investment of $1,500. Even at the most basic level, every site we create includes solid architecture, UX/UI design, and technical SEO. However, each organization we work with has different needs, and many factors can go into website pricing.

What types of websites do you work on?

We focus on three types of websites:

  1. Business / corporate / institutional lead-generation websites. Lead-gen sites are intended to help organizations educate, nurture, and convert prospective customers (or clients, students, etc.) for additional outreach from sales and marketing team members.
  2. E-commerce websites. Customers can buy products or services directly on this type of website.
  3. Brochure websites. These are simple websites that provide basic information about a company and its products / services; they lack advanced features or interactivity.
What website platform do you use?

We use WordPress for websites whenever possible and typically design with Elementor or Avada website builders. We also have experience with Drupal, GoDaddy, Shopify, Weebly, Wix, and WooCommerce, as well as WordPress Gutenberg.

How long will it take to build a website?

This also depends on many factors. Depending on the size of a website, how complex it is, and how long it takes to get internal approvals, a new or redeveloped website will take about six months to complete.

Who helps me if my website needs updates or has technical issues?

Many agencies charge monthly maintenance and update fees, which usually are unnecessary. As long as we have a working relationship with a client, we will make the occasional updates a website needs to remain in good working order. For technical website issues, we always make sure our clients are covered through a trusted developer who’s available on an as-needed basis.

We will never, ever hold a client’s website hostage. If you choose another provider for website services, we will work quickly and cooperatively to ensure a smooth transition.

Do you use subcontractors or subcontract with other agencies?

We believe in total transparency with clients and do not subcontract out project work. Rather, we carefully vet other marketing, PR, design, and development professionals with similar values and experience to our own and forge partnerships that benefit not only The Dames, but also our collaborators and clients.

We do not currently subcontract with other advertising, marketing, or PR agencies, although we may partner from time to time with boutique agencies that offer customized services we do not. Also, while we are open to exploring new collaborative partnerships, we generally won't work under the direction of third-party marketing providers that do not share our values and level of experience.
